LONDON MAP FAIR 2024

15th - 16th June 2024

The 2024 London Map Fair to be held on 15th-16th June is the fifteenth to be held in the historic surroundings of the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington Gore.  Established in 1980 it is the world’s oldest and largest specialist cartographic antiques fair and attracts visitors and exhibitors from across the world.  IMCoS will as usual have a stand at the Fair and looks forward to meeting members and their guests who are visiting the Fair.

This year the Fair welcomes leading international dealers from as far as the United States and Australia, as well as the European Union, and of course from the UK.  Every year the Fair offers the an unparalelled opportunity to see, handle and discuss a vast array of original cartographic material.  It is the ideal place for beginners as well as well as curators and collectors, and as always ADMISSION IS FREE.

This year’s  Map Fair lecture will be given by the Royal Geographical Society’s own Cartographic Collections Manager, Dr Katherine Parker with the title “Blau, Hondius and Ricci: the wall maps of the Royal Geographical Society.”  In addition throughout the weekend author and map expert Ashley Baynton Williams will be giving talks on map collecting for beginners.

With such a wealth of material on offer, from incunabula to 20th century travel and propaganda posters, this is a summer date not to be missed
